"When there is nowhere to turn we reach out our hands in hope"
Base Camp Hope is a faith-based, multi-functional 501(c)3 therapeutic facility designed to help veterans, service members and their families deal with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the aftermath of war, terror attacks and natural disasters. PTSD is a normal reaction to an abnormal event. PTSD and other re-integration problems are not only common among those who once engaged in battle; it is often overlooked, misunderstood and left untreated. If untreated, the lives of those with PTSD quickly spirals out of control and their quality of life is diminished.
PTSD can affect family life, the work place and social settings making it difficult to transition back into civilian life. Learning to cope
with PTSD, cultivate healthy relationships and raising awareness in the Twin Cities communities are the goals and focus of our organization.
Base Camp Hope is dedicated to assisting and supporting veterans and their families with PTSD to reach their new normal and live without the limitations of PTSD. This is accomplished by providing support, adequate resources and establishing programs and intervention services to impact the lives of veterans spiritually, physically and mentally.
We integrate various treatments that have been both tested and proven successful in dealing with PTSD; including cognitive behavior therapy, exposure therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), group therapy, family therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy. We utilitize every resource available to comfort and heal our veterans.
Therefore, we are a place of hope for veterans and families who have lost hope.
